Orientation Program
Attendance at Orientation is compulsory for all new students. It’s where you meet the campus, understand what’s expected of you, and start your course knowing exactly how things work.
Your First Day at Newage
Orientation is not a formality. It’s the session where Newage Institute Pty Ltd welcomes you, walks you through how the College operates, and gives you the information you’ll rely on for the rest of your course.
You’ll receive detail on your course of study, the learning resources available to you, how assessment works, what’s expected in terms of class attendance, and the commitments the College makes to you — alongside the ones you make to us. We’ll also take you through the policies that matter most: complaints and appeals, refunds, course progress, and your rights and responsibilities as a student.
By the end of the session you’ll know your campus, your trainers, your fellow students, and where to go when you need help. Students who attend Orientation properly ask fewer questions later and run into fewer problems.
Attendance Is Compulsory
Orientation attendance is a requirement for all new students. If you cannot attend on your scheduled date because of arrival delays or exceptional circumstances, contact your campus before the session so alternative arrangements can be made. Do not simply arrive on the first day of classes.

The Orientation Program covers the following:
Support services for overseas students
The services available to help you adjust to studying and living in Australia — practical, academic and personal. You'll learn who to approach, how to make an appointment, and what support is free.
Relevant legal services
Where to access legal advice and information, including tenancy, employment and consumer matters that commonly affect international students in Australia.
Course attendance and progress requirements
The attendance and academic progress standards you must meet, how they're monitored, what intervention looks like if you fall behind, and the consequences of not meeting them — including reporting obligations that may affect your visa.
English language and study assistance programs
Language support and study skills assistance available to students who need it. Asking early is not a mark against you; leaving it until you're behind is a much harder position to recover from.
Emergency and health services
Emergency contacts, how the Australian health system works, your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), and what to do if you need medical attention outside campus hours.
Refund policy and procedures
The circumstances in which refunds apply, how to apply for one, and the timeframes for assessment and payment.
