Credit Transfer (CT) vs. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
We offer two formal pathways for international and domestic students to gain credit toward their qualifications (SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management).
1. Credit Transfer (CT)
For previous formal accredited study.
Credit Transfer is the process of awarding credit for units of competency that you have already successfully completed at another Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO) or higher education provider.
Eligibility: You hold an official Statement of Attainment or Academic Transcript showing identical or equivalent National Training Package unit codes.
Evidence Required: Authenticated/certified USI (Unique Student Identifier) transcript, official Statement of Attainment, or certified academic record.
Cost: Credit Transfer processing is provided free of charge at Newage Institute.
2. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
For work experience, informal training, and practical skill.
RPL is an assessment process that evaluates your non-formal learning, informal learning, and years of hands-on workplace experience against the standards of a current unit of competency.
Eligibility: You have relevant, verifiable work experience as a cook, chef, kitchen hand, waiter, supervisor, or manager in commercial hospitality environments.
Evidence Required: Employment references, work samples, job descriptions, payslips, video demonstrations, logbooks, and an RPL evidence portfolio followed by an assessor interview.
Cost: Subject to RPL assessment fees (refer to our Fee Schedule).
